Home was located on 91st Street and Second Ave, NYC. It was sold in 1976 when Richard became too ill to
run it. Richard died of Hochkinson’s Desease in 1981.
I worked there as bartender and manager from 1971 -1973. I started the live music Sunday Jam in 1972.>When I left, Stefan ran it for a while and then Kenny Gorka (now at The Bitter End).
I owe alot to Richard Ross. He taught me what business sense I have today. Richard was the ultimate diplomat. He was much more than a boss. He was a teacher, father and friend. He was loved by everyone he met and he will be remembered.
Home was the place for music people to hang out. Some
of the regulars were:
Richie Havens, Odetta, Exuma, May Pang, Badfinger, Stan Bronstein and Elephant’s Memory,Jon Paris, Omar Mesa and Mandrill, Arlo Gutherie, and yours truly, Bobby Nathan.

I was lucky enough to have met John Lennon the night he got his Home “T” shirt.
